Will the Ethereum 2.0 upgrade affect Rangers Protocol?

Ethereum is in the process of upgrading from Eth1 to Eth2. This upgrade will have no impact on Rangers Protocol, the Rangers Protocol co-founder Jade says.

Eth2’s Phase 0 Beacon Chain was launched on December 1, 2020, introducing a PoS mechanism to the Ethereum network. According to the Ethereum official website, Eth2 stage 1.5 is scheduled to take place at some point in the first half of 2022. At that time, the beacon chain will be docked with the main network, and the Eth1 main network will be merged with the Eth2 beacon chain and sharding system. Realizing the complete transition of the consensus mechanism from PoW to PoS would be a significant event for the Ethereum community and ecosystem. However, the impact on Rangers Protocol, a blockchain infrastructure for the virtual world, is minimal.

First of all, Rangers Protocol has its REVM that is fully compatible with the Ethereum EVM. The function of REVM is to provide support for asset interoperability and cross-chain. When Ethereum is upgraded, Rangers Protocol will also upgrade REVM simultaneously. Secondly, Ethereum 2.0 is to improve the speed, efficiency, and scalability of the Ethereum network to handle more transactions.

“Unlike Ethereum, Rangers Protocol’s goal is to attract developers who are interested in NFT and complex applications to develop based on Rangers Protocol,” Rangers Protocol co-founder Jade said. “Rangers Protocol hopes to allow more traditional industry developers to enter the blockchain world and provide them with blockchain services.”

From an industry perspective, the Ethereum 2.0 upgrade has a greater impact on the existing Layer-2 protocol and high-performance public chains such as Near and Solana. The earlier the ecosystem is established, the more significant the impact will be-Solana has been overwhelmed by transactions recently. The suspension of block production has caused many application developers to worry about their network security and performance. In contrast, the Ethereum upgrade has minimal impact on the underlying protocols such as Polkadot and Rangers Protocol. Compared with Ethereum and Polkadot, the partnership between Rangers Protocol and these public chains is more like a connector. The data and assets of each public chain are connected through Rangers Connector to complete cross-chain interconnection, providing developers and users with cross-chain service.

Rangers Protocol is fully compatible with Ethereum and better serves developers and the Ethereum ecosystem by integrating and expanding cross-chain, NF, EVM, and distributed network protocols. It is an underlying infrastructure that focuses more on supporting NFTs and complex applications such as game socialization. It allows blockchain entrepreneurs and Internet pioneers to freely carry out content creation, cross-chain operation, and application development on top of its agreement without permission.

About Rangers Protocol

Rangers Protocol is a future-oriented virtual world blockchain infrastructure incubated by MixMarvel, integrating cross-chain, NFT, and EVM protocols. As a high-performance chain group that can realize the EVM multi-chain contract interoperability, Rangers Protocol serves all entrepreneurs who want to explore the blockchain world. It allows pioneer developers to freely try out diverse content and applications in the Rangers Protocol ecosystem without permission.
